Our Hand Poured Candles

Soy wax burns cleaner and will last for a longer time than traditional paraffin wax. By buying soy candles you are choosing an eco-friendly natural wax. You are supporting the American soy bean farmer as well as local small businesses where vessels are procured. Soy wax is biodegradable and empty vessels can be cleaned with soap and water with no harmful residue.

Antique vessels are pieces procured from local antique shops. These are not perfect pieces, there will be blemishes and a vintage aesthetic of each piece. No two antique vessels are exactly alike, and each piece offers its own unique character.

We use wood wicks only. Candle safety is important to 4+S Candle Co and we have chosen to use wood wicks to decrease risk of high flames and soot while offering the subtleties of the natural wood elements.

Tips and Suggestions for safe candle care:

• Trim candle wicks to 1/4 in each time before burning. This will help to the lighting process and keep a clean burn.
• Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch on fire. Keep burning candle away from furniture, drapes, bedding, carpet, books, paper, and all other flammable materials.
• Do not keep candles burning without proper supervisions. Leaving candles burning that is not within eyesight poses a dangerous situation. What to do? extinguish candle when leaving the area of sight and simply relight when you are again ready for your candle to burn.
• Discontinue burning a candle when a 3/8″ wax remains in the container to prevent heat damage to surface areas and vessel damage or breakage.
• Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents, and air currents. This will help prevent uneven burning and smoke. NEVER burn a candle under a ceiling fan.
• Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, and debris at all times. If left in the wax pool, they could catch fire when you next light your candle.
• Always burn candles in a well-ventilated room.
• Never touch or move a container candle when the wax is a liquid or molted, The outside of the container should not be hot to the touch when handling.
• Keep candles out of reach of children and pers. Do not place lighted candles where they can be knocked over by children or pets.
